A Trip to New York

Will seeing New York at 24 be the same as at 40?

Youthful ambition is something irreplaceable, isn’t it?

At 24, you’d say, “With the spring breeze under my feet, I gallop ahead, seeing all of Chang’an’s beauty in a day.” At 40, you might think back to your youthful dreams, the ones where you once promised to be the best in the world.

If you write about the Jiangnan, even if you’re a dragon, after traveling the world, you might feel tired. But that doesn’t conflict with your initial desire to see the world because, back then, you were young.

After a Few Rounds, the Moon Rises

Last week, Yang and I went to Inner Voice, a local brewery in Atlanta with a high rating on Untappd.

We had a delicious fruited sour.

Yang mentioned that he met Tang during their undergrad years. I think their relationship now is really chill—there’s none of the fiery intensity that new couples have, nor the indifference that long-term relationships sometimes fall into.

This summer has been pretty relaxed. I’ve been playing basketball at the Hub every afternoon and ranking in “King of Glory” every evening. Days just go by like that.

Drinking with friends feels different from drinking alone.

When you drink alone, the more you drink, the more you want to cry. With friends, it’s all laughter and fun.

We had three rounds: Little Cottage → Wild Heaven → Little House. Three IPAs, then another one, and I was done.

Someone once said that all friends are only for certain stages of life, and no one has friends for life. That thought made me feel a bit regretful, but then I realized: meeting at all is a great fortune. We’re such transient beings, yet we always long for a lifetime.

With a warm drink, you’ll find someone who understands you. But how many people in the world really know you?

Marriage is a lifelong relationship, but it’s best to be friends first before becoming spouses.

From Tieling to Beijing

It took Zhao Benshan 33 years to go from Tieling to Beijing, but it only takes one day to travel from Beijing to Tieling.

Tim once said in a travel video that you have to first see how big the world is to know what you truly like.

If you only drink coffee in China, you’ll know that washed coffee refers to the process where the fruit pulp is removed from the beans, while sun-dried coffee involves drying the beans under the sun after removing the husks.

But when you go to Colombia, you’ll realize that due to its subtropical rainforest climate and frequent rain, all the sun-dried coffee is either dried in greenhouses or directly roasted.

Eel Brother said that when you’re young, you should accelerate the process of expanding your world, rather than staying in one place like a turtle.
